bluetooth dongles are not manufactured to be used with your bluetooth headset. headset manufacturers require the software provided with their headset be used with the bluetooth headset so they can program their headset to work with your computer. it is not possible for us to provide software for you because we only provide software for dongles. we will award you with a free upgrade of bluesoleil or a free bluetooth usb dongle (or genius) if you can prove that your headset uses software from an authorized source.
bluetooth usb dongles purchased without bluesoleil software installed are not compatible with your computer. please do not submit claims of bluesoleil compatibility because these devices are not manufactured to be used with your computer. if you wish to purchase a bluetooth usb dongle please check that it is compatible with your computer before purchasing.
I have bought the DW-60xG but no driver for linux (ubuntu 7.04) It says the module is not loaded when i run lspci and lsusb to find the physical name of the bluetooth device but don’t know what to do about it please help.
I’ve successfully downloaded the BlueSoleil driver for the DW-60xG to my USB drive for Windows, and I’ve been testing it for a while. I’ve attached my writeup with the download and other information:
Just wanted to let you know that I have successfully downloaded the BlueSoleil driver for the DW-60xG to my USB drive for Windows, and I’ve been testing it for a while. I’ve attached my writeup with the download and other information:
The module for the DW-60xG, from what I can tell, is named “DWUSB60xG”. This driver only allows you to make your DW-60xG communicate with your “over the air” PC, but will not make your DW-60xG connect to other bluetooth devices. The main reason I mention this is that it will be much more difficult to get your DW-60xG working with your laptop, since you will need to purchase a bluetooth dongle for your laptop. Before I did this, I was able to connect my DW-60xG to my WinXP laptop (where I run a Winamp program for the DW-60xG). I did however, have to enable the “receive files” option in Winamp, which is in the Advanced settings. This option requires that you have a USB port on your computer, and I think it only works if you’re running Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista (I’m running Vista). I can’t remember offhand if the DW-60xG worked, or not, with WinXP. I don’t remember what the error messages were when I connected the DW-60xG to my WinXP laptop. But, when I tried this, it did not work. Also, I do not think this option allows you to communicate with your DW-60xG via bluetooth.
