It is now possible to map COV to the new EFI Dataloggers as well. This is especially useful if you use the tutorial-3-obdi on the EvoScan site. Most users will not need to do this. The install of the COV client will automatically provide you with the XML and the HEX output you need. For details on which XML files are required in which cars, check the online file listing for COV .
A new option is available which allows you to download and install the tools offline. You just need to download the required XML files manually, and extract the content (in zip format) to the EvoScan directory. Later you can read the source files if you wish. The default setting is “Always enable this” – but you can deactivate it via the nc-tools tab. You can also deactivate the “Install COV as part of the remote cve-tools” option. Both ways are ok.
The default log files are now displayed in the individual Log tab. To log to the EvoScan scan tool, just write to the uego_gauge_log XML file. For screenshots on how to do this, check the tools section.
Version 2.7 is a major update, with a few minor issues, one of which is a bug. There is one issue with the COV-client in that the error-frequency command does not update the TX_ERRORS properly, so you may get many errors to the standard logger because the TX_ERRORS XML contains many errors – this should be fixed. However, if the number of errors to the log before the error-frequency command is adjusted is not what you expect, check your COV-client is updated with the latest Fixpack. Also, if you have any issues with the other EvoScan tools, please let me know.
11. the evoscan output can be saved as csv files and used in spreadsheet programs for further analysis. 12. evoscan takes less than 1 second to scan a single circuit board using 9 pins – and you can set the time to save results.
