The X2 is a chunky buggy, set to dominate the cross country race track with its 200mm suspension travel, 20mm monolever front suspension, oversize rear track arms and durable rear shocks. The X2 is equally at home on the rally & mountain roads.
The X2 is built around the killer X2 engine with a 180cc engine that’s been in production since 1991. All of the X2 plans are supplied with a complete engine. We don’t supply an engine for the X3 (we build it from the ground up) so we’ve supplied the plans with a very standard engine.
The X2 has a racetrack-proven design with durable, hard-hitting steel chassis, suspension and engine, a powerful motor, and tubular steel chassis rails to support the buggy and all accessories. Ready for action and backyard builds, the X2 is for the original X-fanatics and new X-fanatics. This means the price is half the cost of any competitor. Plan your own X-2 and get involved in the X-World now.
The Barracuda plans is a comprehensive 230 pages derived from our latest CAD models for ultimate accuracy and clarity. They can be purchased in a printed book or in digital form ready for immediate download (and at a discounted price).
The final plans we have include the 1:1, MakerBot Filament and the price of $79.95. The 1:1 plan covers the complete building of the model and includes everything needed for the build. Please note that assembly on the cheapest part of the plans may need modification to fit your own 3D printer build.
The pack I opted for was the Carbon X2. It is the most adjustable pack on the market at the moment (the Carbon Fabric X2 still holds the crown). This X2 is a carbon fiber pack specifically designed for a buggy. While many other packs are made with a rigid frame, this one has been made with a flexible frame. The frame is made of two main plates, shaped so they can lock together.
The Piranha III is a robust build with a chassis size of 8.25 (39.25cm) x 3.5 (1.5cm) providing ample headroom for the builder. A kingpin offset of 1.5cm and a sturdy front axles with dual uppers and uppers create a well proportioned buggy.
The Piranha III features a 3.5mm camber adjustable front axle. The wheels are tubeless mounted with a flip on axle and the tire clearance is 33mm. The buggy has two sets of rear wheels with uppers, and an S1 rear suspension with uppers, twistgrips, bushings, bearing cups, and a camber adjustable king pin. Brakes are provided with dual rotors and 4-piston calipers, with cooling provided by single PSC and adjustable fans.

Weighing in at about 60 lbs the Barracuda Mk III will be perfectly capable to carry all sorts of payloads. With a strengthened body and nose the Barracuda can carry more than twice the payload of a standard buggy.
We have also taken key design influences from the world of big travel off-road buggy’s to create the Barracuda. Major influences include the Ridgeline which was developed by Lucas & designed by Bernard Gillet of AbsaRide. The Ridgeline is one of the most advanced big off road buggies on the market and is one of the most highly evolved buggy’s that we have ever built. The Ridgeline features a fully integrated all-around body shell that houses the engine, gearbox, suspension & steering.Other influences include the Ford FC, Concept Racer & the 888 NST buggy. This retro looking buggy has taken big travel buggy’s to the next level of off road performance, the 888 NST has a fully integrated chassis & chassis systems package that include suspension, steering, brakes, both front and rear shocks as well as each suspension linkage. It is complete & ready to race.
