Whether youre dealing with choppy audio, poor sound quality, audio settings that seem to change on their own, or even no sound at all, updating your sound driver will give you a more stable PC and better performance overall. To enjoy a considerable boost in your computer’s speed and reliability, pair your updated drivers with a performance optimizer like AVG TuneUp.
Windows 8 is a consumer operating system that will most likely be used on a desktop, laptop, or tablet. Because of the differences between the Operating System and the device of choice, it may not always be possible to go straight to the software update page for a manufacturer.
Startup Manager is responsible for loading your hardware drivers. To use Startup Manager, you need a suitable user account on your computer. Make sure you have the necessary user account before you install Driver Booster. This is to ensure that you have full access to your computer.
The driver scanning progress will take a minute to complete. Once done, the program will show a list of all the drivers. Scroll down the list and click the Update Driver button. This will start the installation process.
When prompted, please click on the Update button. After updating the driver, please restart your computer so that all the drivers are updated. You can check that the updated drivers are running correctly by going back to Start and clicking on the system information window. If you see a key in red, then something is wrong with the updated driver.
If you have no idea what your sound card is, your manufacturer should be able to tell you the exact make and model (then the precise name). In the case of the Realtek Audio driver, for example, you can find out the make and model of your sound card by looking at your computer or searching the web for information on your specific model.
To prevent other problems, make sure that you only install the official driver files from the device manufacturer. Third-party drivers can cause problems ranging from crashes to lockups to data loss.
