Wanscam Software Ocx Setup Download
i was pleasantly surprised by the quality and feel of the camera. most inexpensive ip cameras come with fairly low quality housing. the wanscam jw0016 is an exception it has a sturdy outdoor housing and the size of the camera is great. its not too bulky like most outdoor bullet cams frankly most outdoor cameras ive seen tend to be quite large. so, definite plus on that front. the rest of the package was fairly straightforward an antenna, power cables (including poe) and some screws to mount the device. ok, lets see how the camera performed functionality-wise.
the camera seems to be able to stream a solid image, and the audio is clear. the video quality is fairly crisp with a decent amount of detail. i see no noise or drop-out issues. the camera seems to have good enough battery life for a 24 hour period. i was a little surprised that the battery indicator on the camera seemed to be fairly inaccurate. the camera claims to last about 6 hours on a full charge which seems to be pretty good. i was also a bit surprised at the use of a high-brightness panel light. i thought these lights were reserved for night vision use only. the camera supports both wifi and wanscam in-app configuration (basically like a desktop app). the in-app configuration seems to be pretty good as the camera updates the settings and configuration settings. the downside is that it seems to use a little bit more battery power than what the camera actually claims. the in-app configuration seems to update the wifi, video settings, and a few other settings. i really like the in-app configuration option. its such a breeze to configure the device and it works pretty good. the only downside is that i can only configure the camera through wanscam in-app client and not directly from my web browser. other than that, i like the camera. i dont see any major issues with the camera or setup.
The camera is a MJPEG camera so youll get some 720p video there, not 4K, but it will work fine for low-speed security, video conferencing, family video, or a cheap and easy way to get IP video on a IP phone or tablet. For high-speed communications, look to the Wanscam C2. My only bugbear with the camera is that since it cant rotate and it has no image stabilization, each video frame tends to look a bit out of focus. I shot a bit of video and that seems to be a recurring problem.
Just installed this app (I’m a Wanscam owner) and I noticed that when you install the wireless camera app, it does not register the external camera with any device. Other apps however (like Skype) do correctly configure the external camera. Any thoughts? I know that I can get the camera to view with other devices using the Wanscam.apk. But I can not view the camera itself with other devices – just the view that is attached to the camera.
I have the same exact issue. Installed Webcam Access on Windows 7 and works great. However when I try to install with the SSL software on my Mac, it connects to the camera however I am only able to view the view that I was connected to before the uninstall/reinstall of the Webcam Access. No image is being sent to my Mac using the Macs default USB port. Foscam web site says it isn’t compatible with Macs… So I was wondering if anyone has been able to get this to work?
I have a stock Wanscam 5900 wifi-Esky camera w/IP camera, I have it configured with video feed through power line, and Firewire to computer. No problem with image or video, except when someone connects with Adobe Connect or Cisco webex it disappears, it is dropped every time. I have tried software installations of the wanscam software, windows and Mac (I have a Macbook Pro). With the Mac, the code loads and looks fine, but I cannot see images. With Windows the code loads but no images appear when connected, and I can see the IP camera in my list, but I cannot click on it or view it. I have tried upgrading the firmware on camera and the software, but that hasnt helped. I am almost at the point of changing the firmware to a different camera, but I have tried three different ones, and none seem to work properly.
